Chart cm is approximate foot length for label matching — not a lab internal cut. Use the cm converter to map foot length across brands.
Adidas Gazelle typically runs slightly long versus a measured street size, so most narrow/average feet size down half. Wide feet often stay true to size because the last is still narrow through the forefoot — sizing down worsens pinch. Gazelle Indoor/Bold share the length rule; Bold changes stack height, not last length.

Adidas uses a 1-size women’s→men’s US gap (not always 1.5). Convert your women’s US size with this model’s fit offset built in.
Gazelle is one of the highest-impression sizing pages on this site, and the common mistake is treating it like Samba OG. Samba is mainly a width story (TTS length, narrow last). Gazelle more often feels a touch long in labeled length — Adidas even notes a roomier lean from its sizing convention — so half a size down is the usual starting point for narrow and average feet who want a clean lockdown.
Wide feet are the exception: the suede last still pinches laterally. Staying TTS preserves volume; sizing down to chase length often creates pinky-toe pressure. Suede softens a little but will not turn Gazelle into a wide shoe.
Versus siblings: Samba stays the skinnier midfoot at TTS length; Spezial is frequently the roomier terrace option; Campus 00s is a padded different last. Do not copy a Samba half-up-for-width habit onto Gazelle length — convert model→model.
Socks: thin everyday socks are the reference for the half-down call. Thick socks may push you back toward TTS even if length felt long barefoot. Gazelle Bold changes platform stack; confirm the SKU before assuming Classic Gazelle offsets.
The lab cut on this page (US men's 9) lists 27.2 cm internal length (272.4 mm), 91 mm forefoot, and 68.9 mm toebox. Adidas chart cm for that same US 9 is 26.2 cm of foot length. That gap is why Gazelle can feel long even when the cavity is not a wildly oversized last: the labeled size is matching a shorter foot-length number than the space inside. If your measured foot already hits the chart figure for your usual size, half down is a length correction, not a style preference.
Width is the override. 91 mm / 68.9 mm at US 9 is still a suede, narrow-leaning shape. Staying true to size when you are wide keeps the only volume you have; chasing the half-down length rule is how pinky-toe pinch shows up. The converter on this page is set to −0.5 US for that reason: it assumes average or narrow feet. Wide feet should ignore the auto-downsize and keep the size that already fits other Adidas lifestyle shoes.
Gazelle Indoor shares the slightly-long length rule on this site. Gazelle Bold changes platform stack, not last length — confirm the SKU before copying Classic Gazelle's half-down. The wear-box maps Samba OG US 10 to Gazelle 9.5: Samba is TTS length with a narrower last; Gazelle is the one that often wants half down in length. Do not apply both adjustments.
