Size down half a size (TTS if wide feet)

Nike’s own AF1 guide says they generally run big from the roomy toebox and recommends half a size down from your usual Nike size. Wide feet can stay TTS. Leather loosens further with break-in.
Nike uses a 1.5-size women’s→men’s US gap (not always 1.5). Convert your women’s US size with this model’s fit offset built in.
Nike Air Force 1 ‘07 is one of the most size-discussed lifestyle sneakers because it often feels long and roomy versus a measured street size. A very common pattern is sizing down half a size from other Nike runners or from a “true” Brannock reading, especially if you like a cleaner silhouette without toe dead space. That said, foot shape still wins: high-volume or wide feet may stay TTS and accept a slightly roomy look.
The AF1 last is not as aggressively narrow as Cortez or some Air Max 1 colorways. Width complaints are less central than length and overall bulk. The midsole foam is firm by modern standards; there is little “break-in” in the foam itself, but the leather upper softens and the shoe packs out slightly.
Versus siblings: Dunk Low is often closer to TTS for many wearers; Air Max 90/1 are different lasts again — do not assume AF1 half-size-down logic applies to every Nike. Jordan 1 High is frequently nearer TTS than AF1 for the same person. If you already own AF1 in a half-down size that fits, that is your best anchor for other AF1 colorways on the same construction.
Sizing tips: if you wear thick socks or plan wide feet, lean TTS. If you want a snug lifestyle fit and have average width, half down is the community default worth testing. Check whether your retailer lists men’s or women’s sizing — women’s AF1 conversion trips people up. Try both sizes when free returns exist; heel slip on the larger size is a clue to size down.
