How this New Balance → On chart actually maps

New Balance US 10 is 27.2 cm and the nearest On US is 10 (EU 44) — the wear-box “New Balance 10 ≈ On 10.0” is that match. The ladder is not clean 1:1. NB 7.5 (25.1 cm) and NB 8.0 (25.5 cm) both land on On 8.0; NB 8.5 (26.0 cm) and NB 9.0 (26.3 cm) both land on On 9.0; NB 10.5 (27.6 cm) and NB 11.0 (28.0 cm) both land on On 11.0. Several NB half-sizes collapse onto one On label.

US 10 to US 10 at the middle of the chart hides those collapses. 574 and 990v6 publish D / 2E / 4E; many 550 and 9060 colorways are D-only. On Cloud 5 is the snug everyday last (often half up); Cloudmonster and Cloudsurfer are the more forgiving On family. A 990v6 you already half-down in D is not the same starting ticket as a TTS 574. Feeding labeled NB 10 (27.2 cm) into On 10 is correct for someone whose NB 10 actually fits in length.

If you already wear 990v6 at 9.5 because it runs long, convert from 9.5 (26.8 cm → On 9.5), not from the original 10 plus another Cloud 5 half. Do not stack “990 runs big” and “Cloud 5 runs small” on top of this table. The 10.5 → On 11.0 jump is ~4 mm of labeled length (27.2 → 27.6 cm). Width letters on the NB side are not a substitute for Cloudmonster’s volume on the On side.
