This page starts from Converse centimeters. Converse US 10 is 27.4 cm and the nearest New Balance US is also 10 (EU 44). The printed US labels are 1:1 from US 6 (23.8 cm) through US 13 (29.9 cm). The wear-box “Converse 10 ≈ New Balance 10.0” is that Converse-side match. New Balance compare pages on this site often start from 27.2 cm at US 10; here the source column is Converse, so US 10 stays 27.4 and still lands on NB 10.
Chuck Taylor All Star High and Chuck 70 High both run long (official half-down, offset −0.5). New Balance is the width-letter toolkit: 574 and 990v6 publish D / 2E / 4E, while many 550 and 9060 colorways are D-only. If you already wear Chuck 9.5 because you followed the half-down, that row is 26.9 cm and still prints NB 9.5 — do not then add another half. If you still wear Chuck 10 (no half-down), NB 10 is the cm match, not a claim that 990v6 runs small.
Do not apply Chuck’s −0.5 and then also jump NB length because 550 felt narrow in D. That tightness is a width-letter problem. Half a size on this table is 26.9 → 27.4 → 27.8 cm. Use the Converse cm column you actually wear, then pick 990v6 2E versus a D-only 550.
