Question 1

How do I convert Carhartt clothing size to Carhartt WIP?

Accepted Answer

Match by the same size system (letter or waist), then adjust for each line’s fit offset. Example: Carhartt 32 ≈ Carhartt WIP 32 on the shared ladder (draft). Cut still matters more than the label.

Question 2

Is a Carhartt M the same as a Carhartt WIP M?

Accepted Answer

Not always. Letter and waist labels map differently across brands, and slim vs straight cuts change how a size feels. Use line guides, not brand averages alone.

Carhartt Waist (W)	Step	Carhartt WIP Waist (W)
28	0	28
29	1	29
30	2	30
31	3	31
32	4	32
33	5	33
34	6	34
36	7	36
38	8	38
